God Honoring Marriage Ceremony
This last week we traveled to South Carolina for the covenant wedding of Caleb Yuck and Jordan Hammond. We arrived on Friday in time for the rehearsal and lunch. What a wonderful time of fellowship. We met many new families, and saw several families that we don't get to see very often. Rachel played the harp for the wedding and Jonathan kept busy by taking hundreds of pictures of the day.

A few of the highlights...
?
?
The wedding began with a traditional entry of the grandparents, mothers and then Caleb, his father and the groomsmen entered. Jordan had three flower girls and four bridesmaids enter, followed by her father Kelly walking her down the aisle. Kelly and Jordan stopped halfway down the aisle, where Caleb would come get Jordan from her father and mother after he was commissioned to "go get his bride" from his father.

The music was beautiful. Rachel played carefully chosen hymns and at the end of the service, Caleb and Jordan sang "We Praise You, O God, Our Redeemer" while Caleb's sister Bethany played the piano.
?
?
Paul Yuck, Caleb's father, gave a short message entitled Christ: The Bridegroom's Perspective. After the message Debbie came down to stand with Paul as the two parents released Caleb to go take his bride!

?
Before Caleb actually took his bride, Jordan, Kelly Hammond shared a message called The Church: The Bride of Christ's Perspective. Shelly then came down to stand with Kelly as the two prayed over Jordan before releasing her to her new groom, Caleb. Many tears were shed as we all watched the Yucks and Hammonds enter into a new stage in life, each without their oldest child in the home any longer.

?
Caleb and Jordan did much study of Scripture as they wrote their vows. They chose not to have someone "officiate" the ceremony, as they did not see any pattern in Scripture for such. I loved the attention to detail and how everything they did was aligned with God's Word.

After the wedding ceremony, we enjoyed lunch and a time of rich fellowship. Following lunch, Caleb and Jordan had a surprise for everyone. They went around the room to each table and served ice cream. This gave them time to greet and thank each person individually. It also gave them an opportunity to serve those that came to celebrate...what a beautiful picture of Christ.
?
?
The entire day was planned with purpose. This was not a typical wedding, but a covenant ceremony that was purposed to be built on Scripture. The gospel message was spoken, but more importantly it was lived out in the lives of these two, now three, families.

?
The bride and groom's sisters prepared a slide show of photos of the two over the years. One of the songs on the video was "I loved her first" by Heartland. During the song Kelly Hammond got up and began to dance with his daughter. There was not a dry eye in the room.

What a beautiful and delicious cake....and cupcakes!

The Redman family has prayed for Caleb for many years and what a blessing to meet the young lady that is the answer to many prayers! May God bless Caleb and Jordan Yuck as they purpose to live for Christ.
