theGrio: Jay-Z backs Obama on gay marriage

Jay-Z came out in support of President Obama's stance on gay marriage in a recent interview with CNN's Poppy Harlow. The platinum-selling hip-hop artist joins a list of celebrities that continues to grow daily in support of the president's endorsement of gay marriage.

"I've always thought it as something that was still holding the country back," Jay-Z said. "What people do in their own homes is their business and you can choose to love whoever you love. That's their business. It's no different than discriminating against blacks. It's discrimination, plain and simple."

The interview with CNN followed Jay-Z's news conference announcement in Philadelphia about his upcoming Made in America two-day music festival in June.
